Some of our favorites:
John Doe - We love John's raw and passionate style of Americana music. His newest album, The Westerner, has edgy ballads that evoke a past of Western America - dreamy, poignant, and authentic. John Doe is a true original. John's new book, More Fun in the New World, co-written with Tom DeSavia, is in bookstores now.
Carlos Hernandez - If you love our boot boxes, you will love the work of this artist. He describes his work as "folk-punk". He has designed and printed posters for such artists as The Smashing Pumpkins, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Santana, and more.
Featherweight Studio - Our good friend, Krissy Teegerstrom, is an artist that works with vintage clothing and accessories. "I design by hand with pencil, paper, ink, thread and fabric, using collage, painting, embroidery, and sewing with my 1948 Singer Featherweight sewing machine. I like the look of things touched by the human hand, imperfect & soulful. I’m inspired by early 20th century craft and quality, and the uniqueness of personal style." Krissy also has an excellent podcast, Beyond + Back, in which Krissy talks with imaginative and artistic people about their inspiration for the creative process. Definitely a great listen! Gaelic Storm - A fabulously entertaining band that melds traditional Irish/Scottish/British music with boisterous & cheeky lyrics. Not to be missed if they happen to come to your town. Steve Twigger, one of the two original members, has used his creativity and photography skills to produce some exceptional photos for our website and Instagram feed.
- Musician/Writer/Director/Actor and all around ranconteur came to our attention while he was playing the iconic Texas honky-tonk, the Broken Spoke
. He came in the store one day asking for a black peewee with a walking heel and that led us to design the Jesse Dayton Peewee
. Jesse is a great brand ambassador for us, wearing his Heritage Boots as he tours the world to great acclaim. Photo credit: Steve Twigger
Amazing Hancock Brothers - If you've been in our store, you have seen all the crazy artwork from these two guys. John is an art professor at Baylor University and Charles works for the Austin School District. Together and separately they produce some demented and exciting artwork. We will soon have some of their work on the website.
